John was born in Kentucky and raised in metro-Atlanta. His greatest passion is seeing people transformed by the Gospel and mobilized and giving themselves away. Prior to entering full-time ministry, John spent nearly 12 years in the US Army. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Belhaven University and the Director of Global Impact at the Agapao Movement, a nonprofit committed to extensive equipping and advocacy work in South Asia.
Abi was born in Manila, Philippines and learned from an early age what it meant to live for Jesus. At the same time, she quickly experienced the difficulties of being a third-culture kid in an ever changing third-culture environment. Abi’s childhood took her all over the world, but she spent most of her formative years living between the Pacific Northwest, Tampa Bay and South America.
In 2017, the Thompson’s answered God’s call to plant a multiethnic, multiclass church in Lilburn. They have been married for nearly 14 years and have traveled the world together. Together they love culture, food, coffee, and traveling. They have three amazing children: Emma, Grace, and Micah.
